Volunteers are essential for the effective operation of Mobile Meals. See below to learn more about these different volunteer options.
To become volunteer download an application and mail it to: Mobile Meals, 1063 S. Broadway St., Akron, OH 44311. You may also phone our office at (330) 376-7717, (440) 234-2433 or (800) 852-6325 for further information. Or email us and include your home address, and we will mail a packet of information to your home.

Meal Delivery Volunteer
Meal Delivery Volunteers pick up meals from a location near their home and deliver to clients within that geographic area. Volunteers must use their own vehicle, but are provided with coolers to keep meals at the proper temperature throughout the route. Directions are provided for completing the route efficiently, along with a complete listing of the meal recipient names & addresses. Most routes take just over an hour to complete. Dining Center Volunteer
Dining Center Volunteers help with the smooth operation and efficient service of meals at a Mobile Meals dining center. Dining center volunteers may also assist with meal preparation and packaging. Centers located across Summit County allow clients to enjoy a meal and socialize. (Summit County only)
Grocery Getters
“Grocery Getters” provide volunteer grocery shopping services for individuals unable to shop for themselves. “Grocery Getters” are paired with a particular client and shopping is done at a mutually agreed upon time. Clients are responsible for preparing their own shopping list and payment of their own groceries. (Summit County only) Interesting in becoming a Mobile Meals Volunteer Shopper? Office Volunteer
Office Volunteers help with a wide variety of administrative office tasks, including duplication of written materials, preparation of bulk mailings, filing and data entry at our main office near Downtown Akron. We are on the METRO bus line! (Summit County only)
Adopt A Route
“Adopt-A-Route” Meal delivery volunteers are companies, organizations or groups that commit to meal delivery two or more times each month. Routes are coordinated for delivery close to the place of business and can be completed during a lunch hour. What a great way to boost employee morale while allowing employees to help those in need with a nutritious meal. Partner organizations are even featured in the monthly volunteer newsletter!
